Mrs Galetto Clarification

I got this from Blake Lennon, c/o 02...

I guess she didn't have surgery, but someone said in a voice mail that was forwarded to everyone @ DLS that she did. I'll trust Patti's word on that. As usual, I will pass along any new developments. Please feel free to pass the word along to anyone you think might not know yet.

Hi friends,
Just to clear things up a bit... I just talked to Patti, and Mrs. G. is actually doing slightly better than these emails might have us believe, although the outlook is still not entirely good.

She was admitted to the hospital last week because she was having trouble breathing due to excessive fluid buildup. She did not have surgery; upon inspection the doctors found that the cancer had indeed spread to her lungs and throat, resulting in the paralysis of her vocal cords.

She has been put on a ventilator, and as of today has cleared out much of the fluid. She is still unable to breathe independently, although it is my understanding that they may attempt to gauge her respiration soon to see if they can ease off the respirator.

She is able to communicate with handwritten notes, and has apparently been able to convey important messages to her family and loved ones. She's still putting up a fight like the incredibly strong woman she always has been. I'm sure I don't have to tell you to keep her and the family in your thoughts and prayers. I will update you as soon as I hear anything else worth passing on, and you can call or email me if you'd like.
