Long story short, things are absolutely just wonderful!
Lately, my social outings have primarily been either with fellow coworkers, the SJSU crowd, and a few random crowds.
This past week, our NYC coworker was working out of our SF offices this week, as his partner was here for the VMWare conference. A bunch of us from the office hung out with his a couple of times outside of work this past week -- with Thursday being the huge outing.
We crashed a yuppie party at a bar in SOMA, we did some karaoke at The Mint, and those who were left around ended up going to Badlands.
Adam, our NYC guy, is absolutely adorable! I'm trying to drag him and his partner Vic to move out here -- telling them that NY is overrated! lol
Other than partying up with the coworkers, I must say I'm blessed to work with such a great team for such a great company. Our merger with Merrill Lynch is slated to close this coming Friday. Despite the uneasiness of a slight culture change, we're still continuing to work the way we've always been working.
Coming from a company where morale was always at a low, where I am grateful to work in an environment that is essentially drama free and non-bureaucratic.
Speaking of drama --
For the past several months, I've been in a place personally where I'm loving life, my job, and the people who are truly close around me -- Which is probably why I haven't been posting as much.
What I'm going to say next is probably going to make me sound like a dick to some people, but if that's what some of you think, you're probably missing the point.
For the first time in as long as I can remember, my life has been pretty much drama free. A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that I'm pretty much in career mode, with my career off to a fabulous, unshaken continuance. My social network has grown exponentially, not just locally, but bicostally.
I know that may seem to be a broad, unrelated correlation to some, but I don't expect everyone to understand it. This is not directed to any single individual or group of people, but what I want everyone to understand is that I'm really not up for hearing one's extreme drama.
My stance: Everyone's an individual. If others do not approve of your actions, so be it! You should not give a damn, nor should you apologize if you feel what you did was right. In most cases, those who are adding fuel to the drama are essentially being immature drama queens.
I'll admit, I have fallen victim to this in the past, but it was just that: THE PAST.
Those who really know me know that I've significantly matured since then. It is kinda sad at times when events are brought to my attention and figure it out after the first sentence that immaturity comes into play.
Ok with all of that randomness said, I'm out for the night =)
