Now the reason for the multiple posts tonight is because some of my friends were interested in knowing what was going on with the De La Salle game in Seattle. So I was posting quarterly updates and then some throughout the night.
What most of you guys don't understand is that before tonight, De La Salle has had a winning streak that counted up to 151 consecutive games. This streak has been going on since 1991. Although some may not really understand it, but if you've gone through De La Salle or Carondelet, this was one of the main catalysts for our school pride both while we were at the school and after we graduated.
So tonight's loss was a complete shock and disappointment to all of those associated with the two schools.
Anyways, I'm kinda tired right now so I'll post more later on, but I just wanted to congratulate all of those athletes who have gone through the program, especially this year's team. At the end of tonight's game, every single DLS fan stood up and proudly applauded the team. There was no cheering, nothing vocal. Just a sense of understanding of what just happened on the field.
BTW, here's a newslink from the Contra Costa Times and from the San Francisco Chronicle / SF Gate. (The CCTimes site can now accept logins from any Knight Ridder / RealCities sites like the SJ Merc... SFGate is still accessible w/o a login)
